INIDE has the legal nature of a Public Institute integrated in the Administrative or Social Sector, with the category of public establishment, under the terms of the current legislation on public institutes.

INIDE aims to study and monitor the development of the education system, assess apprenticeships, develop curricula and related materials and propose policy measures likely to produce innovations and guarantee the quality of education at primary and secondary levels.
INIDE has the mission to coordinate, execute and monitor the pedagogical and educational research policies, to conceive and elaborate studies, curricula and other pedagogical materials, which allow the realization and permanent improvement of the teaching-educational process at the levels of Pre-school Education, Primary and Secondary Education.
INIDE is a Public Institute dedicated to the study and monitoring of the development of the education system, aiming to guarantee quality and excellence in primary and secondary education. INIDE has its headquarters in Luanda, is nationwide and can create representations at the local level, under the terms of the law.
